- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆Sunday was our first and last time at "Big Splash" for my daughters birthday. I did have déjà vu, as everything was exactly the same as "Splashdown water park" from my childhood...everything. There have been no upgrades I could see and the park really shows its age and time has not been kind. For the high price of admission, I expect better. The most infuriating thing about this park is they do not allow you to bring in any of your own food, cultus does, I believe. Big splash does however, allow you to go out to your car to eat or drink. Not very convenient nor pleasant. So not only did it cost us over $180 for 2 adults and 4 kids but now you have to shell out a lot more money for food and drinks. The horribly over priced food was disgusting, the fries were a soggy sponge of cold grease and the chicken was like cardboard. The crows were the only ones pleased. It took almost an hour to get the food and they ran out before filling our whole order. The bathrooms were filthy and obviously are not taken care of on a regular basis. The pools were full of debris including copious amounts of hair. The walkways were rough and some of the stairs were very slippery. The pool water was freezing and unpleasant, even though the day was hot. The slides themselves were very old and people kept getting stuck. A number of our group had actual abrasions from the roughness of the slides' seams. People were smoking in the park so we called in to complain as smoking is not allowed. No one from the staff bothered to speak with that group or any of the number of people smoking various things. We were there from opening until closing time.I guess smoking is okay but they'll ban an apple. The afternoon visitors were an odd group.... Not the parks fault but people sitting in the crappy hot tub fully dressed in their street clothes while children ran around in transparent underwear was rather off putting. It may be a little closer but it is not worth saving the travel time. Go to Cultus and get your money's worth. There is no comparing the two.... Cultus wins hands downBy Brian, July 03, 2017
- ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆You can't bring any food inside which is ok. My only concern with that is if you want to serve food...do it right. We waited one hour for a couple of chicken strips. Also, the entrance is not cheap ($28 per person) + $5 parking + $5 locker. This ends up being a very expensive day for a family. Only rating three stars because at least the girls had fun.By Gaspard Monge, January 01, 2017
- ★ ★ ☆ ☆ ☆I am giving a poor review because of a few reasons. The food service is unacceptable and horrendous. The menu is basic concession food. It is not bar style or restaurant food. Except an hour plus wait for simple food. When our food arrived it was cold and you could tell the fries had been sitting in warmers. I've worked in the food and bev industry for 15 years. I've worked in tourism and restaurants and busy family summer theme facilities. To wait over an hour is ridiculous. This happens under poor system structures, poor hiring and poor management. Staff need to be traded on efficiency especially when you can't bring in your own food. The kitchen "manager" was a kid who had poor customer service skills. The waitress was nice and they took off our unedible food from the bill. If you are going have people wait extensive periods for food you need to allow them to bring in food. They took away food from a family as we were coming in. The customer told them her son had severe allergies and they argued with her. To get in is expensive for minimal renovations. I am happy to pay any price if the facility is good. $5 for parking is a bit crazy. The cabanas look like they are from Walmart for $19.99 when they are asking for $75 rental. The washrooms are disgusting. The adult only hot tub isn't open and when we asked the kid employee had no idea what we were talking about. We had fun despite the negative aspects of the facility. The employees are all poorly trained kids. I won't go back for the food service.By b warhol, October 03, 2016
- ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆Great water park but getting more pricey and unaffordable. You can no longer bring in your own food and drinks forcing you to purchase their overpriced and mostly unhealthy options. Will likely opt out of this attraction on our next annual visit.By Nancy Lewis, August 09, 2016
